Villains and Sweethearts: Summer Children’s Concert set Monday, June 16 at Mount Vernon Music

    MOUNT VERNON –In a program of musical children's stories to kick off the Franklin County Library’s summer reading program, Mount Vernon Music presents “Villains and Sweethearts,” performed by the Orchard Ensemble and narrated by Sherry Daniel.


Miss Demeanor and Groove Felons to play The Market May 31

Tunes from the Great American Songbook will be front and center when Miss Demeanor and the Groove Felons take the stage at the Market on Celebration Square, Saturday, May 31. And, if we’re lucky, the smooth combo will toss in a little Thelonious Monk. Can you imagine? Monk at the Market.


Nuevo Tango! at Mount Vernon Music Saturday, May 10

    MOUNT VERNON –Mount Vernon Music hosts an evening of romantic and passionate music in “Nuevo Tango!” Saturday, May 10, at 7:30  p.m.  in Mount Vernon Music Hall. Renowned Argentine musician Mariano Dugatkin, bandoneon, and the strings of the Orchard Ensemble will perform tangos by the great Astor Piazzolla, including Oblivion, Libertango, Adios Noniño and more. Music lovers won’t want to miss this chance to hear a true master of an instrument central to the tango tradition of Argentina and Uruguay, but rarely heard by American audiences.


A toast to forever friends – then and now

Allen Frizzel joins Psalms 100 at Reed’s May 3

    Allen Frizzell, country artist and brother of stars Lefty and David Frizzell, will be in concert with Psalms 100 at Reed’s Entertainment on Saturday, May 3. Joining them will be Gigi and Randy Burgess.
