Youth strings perform for benefit dinner

Middle schoolers from the Sulphur Springs Youth Orchestra performed selections from the classics like Mozart, Bach and Beethoven, as well as movie themes in order to raise funds to support their new, nonprofit strings orchestra at a Dinner & Strings Benefit Dinner at the Sulphur Springs Country Club last Friday evening.

City crime down almost 30 percent

Crime in Sulphur Springs declined significantly during the first half of 2017, compared to the first six months of 2016. Only 72 offenses were recorded overall in Sulphur Springs from Jan. through June 30 of this year in the seven major crime reporting categories.
