Bike rally set to raise medical funds

Muddy Jake’s in downtown Sulphur Springs will be hosting its annual benefit — this year, it’s “Ride for Vickery” — to raise funds to help the family of Steven Vickery pay medical expenses incurred prior to his death earlier this year.

Local and area motorcycle bikers and clubs are invited to ride in a motorcycle run, have lunch, then join in on the 50/50 raffle and enjoy live music.

“We’re hoping for anywhere from 50 to 100,” said Kaci Kennedy, store manager for Muddy Jake’s and one of the event’s organizers, about the expected turn-out. “Our biggest one was our first year, and we had 60.”
