Wildcats head boys basketball coach Clark Cipoletta smiles when he looks over the gym full of energetic and talented kids, and it’s just July.
For at the second year in a row, total attendance in all basketball camps for future Wildcats pushes past the century mark.
    Cipoletta could not be happier.

“We're glad to see the turnout,” Cipoletta said. “We had about the same number a year ago, over 100.”
The camp was drawing just 25 or so a few years ago. But interest in basketball in Sulphur Springs has climbed, Not coincidentally so have the win totals of the Wildcats.
Last year the varsity squad put up a school record of 26 wins, advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
Cipoletta said, “The first group was 70 or so with 40 youngster in the middle school age group with less than 10 freshmen.”
Assisting Cipoletta in the camp are Philip Manning, high school coach, along with middle school coach Tony Henry and SSMS teacher and former SSHS player Trevor McClure.
“This is a great turnout, the kids here love basketball and are eager to learn,” Cipoletta said. “It seems to get better every year.”
