CUMBY — The summer vacation for many student/athletes will have to wait as they continue to train for upcoming seasons.
Cumby made the football playoffs last year and the school has high hopes for success in all sports.

The Trojans set a school record with the first playoff win in football and tied a longtime record with nine wins during the grid season.
Tom Dracos, Cumby head coach and athletic director, has been pleased with the workouts.
Dracos knows the work and dedication shown now will translate into not only success, but over conditioning for the team. The student/athletes also  for a bond working together for a common goal as the toil during the summer.
“I have been really impressed with the workouts thus far. I think when we max the last week of July we are going to see some great results,” Dracos said. “The new guys on staff are very impressed with how hard the kids work. I think that how much work you put in the summer greatly effects the fall sports (volleyball and football). “            Dracos added, “Once the kids get back in school they are back on regular schedule, eating regularly, and makes it a lot easier to get them in shape. The athletes are working very hard this summer and I think that will greatly help fall camp.  As a coach you never really know for sure how your season is going to go, but you sleep a lot better when kids are working hard for you on their own time.”
